10 Pennsylvanians (plus Michael Jordan) join Forbes’ list of America’s richest people

according to Forbes On the 2023 list of the 400 richest people in America, 10 Pennsylvanians are worth at least $2.9 billion, which is the cutoff for the list.

The total value of these 400 people is $4.5 trillion. Net worth is calculated based on share prices since September 8, 2023.

Elon Musk tops the list with a net worth of $251 billion, followed by Jeff Bezos ($161B) and Larry Ellison ($158B). Former President Donald Trump did not make the list as his wealth fell 19% to $2.6 billion.

However, NBA icon Michael Jordan did just that. With his $3 billion sale of the Charlotte Hornets, he became the first professional athlete to rank among the 400 richest people in America, Forbes Written in October.

Yass is the co-founder of Susquehanna International Group, one of Wall Street’s largest and most successful trading firms. He lives in Haverford.

Yas’s net worth is $28.9 billion, down from $30 billion in 2022.

Michael Rubin (No. 61)

Michael Rubin is the founder and CEO of Fanatics, an online sports merchandise retailer. He lives in Bryn Mawr.

Rubin’s net worth increased to $11.5 billion from $10.2 billion in 2022.

Marieke Mars (No. 76)

Marijke Mars and her three sisters are heirs to the family’s candy and pet food giant Mars Incorporated. She lives in Philadelphia.

Mars’ net worth is $9.7 billion, up from $9.3 billion in 2022.

Arthur Danczyk (No. 137)

Dancik is a co-founder of Susquehanna International Group, one of Wall Street’s largest and most successful trading firms. He lives in Gladwin.

Dantchik’s net worth is $7.3 billion, down from $7.5 billion in 2022.

Thomas Hagen (No. 211)

Thomas Hagen is Chairman of Erie Indemnity and has been with the company for more than 50 years, including three years as CEO from 1990 to 1993. He lives in Erie.

Jeffrey Lurie is a former sociopolitical science professor and the outspoken owner of the NFL’s Philadelphia Eagles. He lives in Wynnewood.

Maggie Hardy (No. 278)

Maggie Hardy is the owner and CEO of 84 Lumber, one of the largest privately held building materials suppliers in the United States. She lives in Belle Vernon.

Hardy’s net worth is $4.1 billion, up from $1.4 billion in 2022.

Mary Alice Dorrance Malone (No. 304)

Mary Alice Dorrance Malone is the largest shareholder of the Campbell Soup Company. She lives in Coatesville.

Malone’s net worth is $3.7 billion, down from $3.9 billion in 2022.

John Middleton (No. 304)

John Middleton became rich in 2007 when he sold his family’s storied tobacco business to Altria, the parent company of Philip Morris, for $2.9 billion in cash. He lives in Bryn Mawr.
