11,400 light points replaced – Giornale Nord Est

The Municipality of Pordenone today officially signed a partnership with Hera Luce for the management and redevelopment of public lighting in the city.
This is the greatest technological and environmental innovation that Pordenone has ever had.
The mayor of Pordenone Alessandro Ciriani, the newly appointed councilor for urban planning Lidia Diomede, the general manager of Hera Luce Alessandro Battistini and the head of commercial development Stefano Amadori took part in the presentation of the project.

As explained in a timely manner by the representatives of Hera Luce, in Pordenone there will be more than 11,400 old-generation light sources which will be upgraded with LED technology, contributing to annual energy savings of over 2.709 million kWh, corresponding to an average annual consumption of 1,004 families. These are the data of the energy redevelopment project designed by Hera Luce for the Municipality of Pordenone: a complete restyling that will last almost two years but which will give citizens back completely renewed, more efficient and sustainable public lighting, which will lead to energy savings by 73%.

Thanks to Hera Luce’s intervention, more than 970 obsolete light poles will also be replaced, 124 new electrical panels will be installed, 50 km of power lines will be redeveloped, 17 new lighting systems for pedestrian crossings will be installed, the traffic lights replaced with LED technology systems and installed latest generation advanced control units capable of analyzing traffic and producing adaptive vehicle plans.

But that’s not all: a smart infrastructure will be created through the laying of over 1.5 km of optical fiber and 10 gateways capable of interconnecting the city’s sensors; all switchboards and over 10,000 light points will be controlled remotely and 19 variable message panels will be installed, 8 ZTL ​​gates, 9 license plate reading gates, 9 video surveillance cameras, information totems, sensors for measuring air quality, bike counters, river level and underpass flooding, all integrated in a single control room, sole director of the entire city sensor system.

The project involves the enhancement of some areas of the historic city centre. From via della Santissima with 15 new street furniture points to the Adam and Eve Bridge, from the Molo sul Noncello to Piazza San Marco, from the Town Hall to Corso Vittorio Emanuele, Piazza Cavour, Corso Garibaldi, Piazza XX Settembre and Largo San Giorgio.
