Gaza Information Office: The death toll rose to 14,532, including more than 6,000 children.
Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki said on Wednesday that more than 50 members of a family were killed in the Jabalia refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip during the Israeli military campaign.
He added, on the sidelines of a press conference for Arab and Muslim foreign ministers in London, that 52 members of the Qaddoura family were killed in Jabalia this morning alone.
He explained that he had a “list of names”, underlining that the family had been completely exterminated, from grandfather to grandchildren.
For its part, the Gaza Information Office announced that the number of Palestinians who died as a result of Israeli bombing has risen to 14,532, including more than 6,000 children.
Additionally, the Israeli military announced today the interception of a cruise missile launched towards Eilat, southern Israel. The army said in a statement: “Following a report regarding the infiltration of an enemy aircraft in the area of the Red Sea city of Eilat in the south of the country, an Israeli Air Force fighter plane managed to intercept a cruise missile launched against Israel.”
The war between the Israeli army and Palestinian armed factions in Gaza entered its 47th day on Wednesday, as indicators began to show signs of a resolution to the crisis with the imminent implementation of a ceasefire agreement.
Israel renewed its raids in several areas of the northern Gaza Strip, a few hours before the start of the implementation of the truce announced by Israel and Hamas, with Qatari-Egyptian mediation. At the same time, correspondents from Al-Arabiya and Al-Hadath reported new rocket bombardments on Sderot and settlements surrounding Gaza.
The Palestinian Red Crescent said today that 14 of its ambulances had arrived, accompanied by the United Nations and Doctors Without Borders, to evacuate the sick and injured from Al-Shifa hospital in the northern Gaza Strip to hospitals in the south.
The Red Crescent added in a statement that the cars will transport kidney patients to Abu Youssef Al-Najjar Hospital in Rafah, while the injured will be transported to the European Hospital south of Khan Yunis.
