Secondly, government action to prevent and combat Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) is necessary as infected wild birds have been found in the country. Among the planned actions are the transfer of teams from official veterinary services and international agricultural monitoring services, in addition to other groups such as firefighters, civil defense and the Army; Labor contracts; Purchase of personal protective equipment, sample collection materials, disinfectants, tarps and spray pumps; paying compensation; acquiring roads and excavators; purchasing laboratory materials and investing in biosecurity infrastructure.
Another purpose of the additional credit is the construction of roads and arches, as well as equipment to spray diluted water-based disinfectants for external disinfection of vehicles to contain the virus. According to the government, the measure was developed jointly with the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, the Brazilian Institute of Environment and Renewable Natural Resources (Ibama), and Civil Protection and national organizations.
