LeBron James posted a cryptic message on IG while showing off the latest apparel from his friend’s clothing brand

Los Angeles Lakers superstar forward LeBron James has long been loyal to his inner circle. James continued to show support for his friends by promoting his friend Edward Givens’ clothing line, Layrficial, on his Instagram Stories on Tuesday.

In typical LeBron James fashion, the superstar forward posted a cryptic message about family while showing off one of the brand’s latest apparel:

“Never disobey your family!!”

In his story, James can be seen courtside at a Lakers game wearing a pink hoodie and shorts combo officially provided by Layr. The company also shared the same photo of James on its IG page and thanked the superstar for his support:

“@kingjames wearing @layrofficial lightweight LO hoodie and shorts set with @uninterrupted ‘Chosen UN’ snap back! Thank you for the love.”

In other LeBron James news, he was recently criticized for his courtside behavior during Los Angeles’ latest preseason game.

In Friday’s game against the Golden State Warriors, James scored 12 points in the first half before resting in the second half. He then returned to the sidelines in street clothes and watched the rest of the game from the sidelines. However, James also brought a meal that made Lakers legend Michael Cooper uncomfortable.

The five-time NBA champion said James’ courtside meal showed a lack of leadership and an overall lack of respect for the game:

“I don’t like it. Again, he’s LeBron James, but you still have to respect the game, man,” Cooper said on his Showtime with Coop podcast.

“He’s over there – I don’t mind the guy eating, but go to the dressing room and eat and then when you come out you come out and be part of the team and not just sit at the end of the bench and eat” .

(The following is the 15:50 mark)

James will turn 39 in December and is now the oldest player in the league entering his 21st season. So given all the high-stakes games he’s played in over the years, most would probably forgive him for not taking the preseason too seriously.

Yet James is one of the most scrutinized athletes of all time, with his every move overly analyzed. So, it looks like James once again can’t catch a break, even something as simple as grabbing a snack during an inconsequential game.
