K-pop star Lisa Manoban of BLACKPINK is in the news for a tweet from NewJeans Global as fans demand an apology and “Apologize to Lisa” is trending on X/Twitter.

It’s no surprise that BLACKPINK fans care about their idols.

Whether it’s a negative tweet about them or fans claiming that YG Entertainment is overworking artists, Blinks always stands up for their idols.

The latest example is the trending Twitter phrase (now known as X) “Apologize to Lisa,” which has gained popularity with over 280,000 tweets. This comes after a tweet from K-pop group NewJeans’ fan account sparked the ire of fans.

NewJeans Global tweet angers BLACKPINK fans

In a post from PopCraze’s Twitter account about Lisa, where they shared two photos of her with the caption, “Blackpink’s Lisa looks amazing in new photos,” there was a comment that started it all.

Underneath the post, the account commented, “She looks terrible,” with a slew of emojis including vomit emoji and middle fingers.

NewJeans Global is a huge fan account created for the group that had 145,000 followers before the account was deleted. Fans expressed their anger by demanding an apology, causing the phrase “Apologize to Lisa” to trend.

NewJeans Global apologizes to fans and Lisa

After receiving huge backlash, the account responded by apologizing and claiming that his account had been hacked, but fans refused to believe it.

Representatives of NewJeans Global said: “I don’t know if you noticed, but we are currently being actively hacked. We don’t know what’s going on at all.”

The statement asked fans to bear with them while they sort things out, but BLACKPINK fans believe that it is all a façade and that the admin simply forgot to change the account before commenting on the post.

The user said: “Stop pretending you got hacked. You just forgot to switch your account!”

Following this, the fan account switched its Twitter account to private and posted an official statement, which has now been deleted, which read: “Please forgive us for our incompetence, we have switched to private mode to avoid being blocked due to replies and comments that we received.”

They went on to apologize to fans who felt victimized and stated that they do not “endorse” any form of harassment. Considering this their final response to the incident, they added that they were not in control of the situation.

NewJeans Global also apologized to Lisa in a statement. “We also apologize to Lisa for this inconvenience, we are not responsible for this act, our team will never lie about this.”

However, social media users are still not convinced as the fan account has blocked several of Lisa’s fan pages. They said they had received death threats and that they understood everyone’s disappointment.

At the time of writing NewJeans Global Twitter account no longer exists.

Many fans were furious because one user wrote“You can’t always play the victim of the circumstances you created. Now it’s taking its toll on you. You can’t even really explain yourself or apologize.”

Another said: “Now they are openly accusing our fans of serious wrongdoing. Are our fans sending you death threats? Girl, how far can you go to hide your lies?
