Emma Raducanu recently shared a clip of her run at last year’s Cincinnati Open, expressing her excitement for the upcoming 2024 season.
Raducanu’s Cincinnati season was one of the most impressive performances of the 2022 season, as she defeated two former world No. 1s, Serena Williams and Victoria Azarenka, with a bagel. The former British world number one defeated the American player in straight sets 6-4, 6-0 in the first round.
The 20-year-old then defeated two-time Australian Open champion Azarenka 6-0, 6-2. She finally met her opponent, Jessica Pegula, whom she defeated 7-5, 6-4 in the third round.
Raducanu shared the video on her Instagram Story on Wednesday, October 25.
“Can’t wait,” Raducanu wrote on Instagram.
Raducanu recently revealed that she is taking a break from the 2023 season and preparing for her comeback in the upcoming 2024 season. The 20-year-old said this season has been difficult as she has missed all Grand Slam tournaments.
“I’ll be back next season,” she said. “All the majors for the season are over so it’s hard to watch them go by, but I’m trying to stay in my lane as much as possible and continue to focus on my recovery.”

Emma Raducanu recently shared her thoughts on the potential challenges she will face as she prepares for her return to competition.
In a recent interview with BBC Radio 4’s Today programme, the former world number 10 expressed her excitement about returning. She also admitted that given her current world ranking of 280th, she may have to start from the bottom.
“I’ll probably come back lower ranked, but I’m actually looking forward to starting over, kind of resetting,” Raducanu said.
Raducanu said she had achieved one of her main ambitions by winning the 2021 US Open and now she is aiming to reach even higher levels.
“I already had that money in the bank, so it was like, ‘OK, now I can move on and build from here.’ I still have new goals, new things that I want to achieve. But I still have about 15 goals and a few years left in my career, so there is no rush,” Raducanu added.
