Rapper Lil Wayne talks about meeting LeBron James for the first time.
The 41-year-old hip-hop icon was introduced to LeBron when he was still in high school.
Lil Wayne recounted their first meeting at a concert in Ohio more than two decades ago.
The five-time Grammy winner was in school himself when he first heard that LeBron wanted to be on his show.
Lil Wayne told NBA on TNT: “I did a show during the tour in Ohio.
“(Management called me) and said ‘I have a player in Ohio who wants to come to your show. He’s that guy. He’s a young Michael Jordan.'”

“They said ‘He’s a high school player.’ I said can he come to the show?!
“Then I had to remind myself that I was in high school, too.
“I remember that day, (rapper) Juelz Santana was there for some reason.
“He came over to my room with me. That meant I was in the room for an extra hour, an hour and a half.”
“When I came downstairs, (LeBron) was still on the outskirts.”
The rap star went on to explain why he suddenly understands the hype surrounding LeBron.
He continued: “I remember he had his arm in a cast. I saw him protecting it. And protecting it as people saw it.
“That’s what told me at the time – he had to be someone.
“He remembers that night and I remember that night. It was an unforgettable time.”
Shortly after meeting, LeBron was selected as the No. 1 overall pick by the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Since then, the Akron native has become one of the greatest players the NBA has ever seen.
At 38, he continues to play and compete with the Los Angeles Lakers for a fifth NBA title this season.
Last season, he surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to become the league’s all-time scoring leader.
