Ciudad Juárez- One-year-old Leonel Tadeo has been bedridden at the Children’s Specialist Hospital (HIES) for most of his life due to hydrocephalus and microcephaly. After these illnesses, he contracted pneumonia and was hospitalized for a month, a situation that incurred expenses that the family could not support.

Quetzal Guadalupe Amador Nunez, Leonel Tadeo’s mother, said the minor had to be put on a ventilator and needed to buy medication and supplies, but was asked to help pay for it. , will hold a carnival on November 5th.

He added that he also suffered from epilepsy, bronchopulmonary dysplasia and severe hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy.

“We have been here for a month, and we were hospitalized two months ago. It has always been like this. This time it is because of the recurrence of pneumonia. We have been hospitalized for a long time from birth to now.” The interviewee said.

They bought a fan for 100,000 pesos

With the support of the community, a few months ago, the family managed to purchase a fan and a device adapter worth approximately 100,000 pesos.

The minor’s father worked as a farmer for a few days in the city of El Paso, while his mother devoted herself to caring for Lionel. The family lives in the neighborhood of Parajes de San Isidro.

Medications and other supplies are provided by HIES, but you must purchase them when you are discharged from the hospital or if you are short of them. He has to spend 800 pesos a month on a medicine.

Amador Nunez said he also requested payment through a platform for daily transportation costs, which cost about a thousand pesos per week, plus the cost of diapers and milk.

To support families with minors, the Charity of St. Jude Tadeo will host a carnival on November 5th.

“We invite various communities to participate in this rally to raise funds for their follow-up costs after discharge,” said the interviewee.

The event will be held at 12:00 noon at 420 Granito Street in the Morelos neighborhood.
