The Metropolitan Cathedral of Guatemala City is preparing to commemorate the twentieth anniversary of the Immaculate Conception.
The last of the Children’s Procession on December 3rd, the Silver Wedding Procession in Intramuros on December 6th and the remainder of the Immaculate Conception Procession on December 9th are sold here.
Consecration and other ordination of the Immaculate Conception
On December 6, 1998, the venerable Archbishop of Guatemala, Mgr. icon.
Subsequently, in accordance with Papal Bull No. 139-03-L of Supreme Pope John Paul II, the privilege was granted to publicly perform the Coronation of the Icon. This solemn ceremony was held on December 5, 2004 by the President of Guatemala. Archbishop Rodolfo Cardenal Quesada Toruno presided over the presence of more than ten thousand people from all churches and religious circles in the atrium of the Cathedral Basilica in front of the main square that we today call Central Park join. Metropolitan Cathedral Immaculate Conception Prayer
Starting in 1855, a special program of events is drawn up every year, culminating every day on December 8th with a passionate procession of the Virgin Mary through the main streets and avenues, in which parish and church crosses take part in all the congregations , fraternities, fraternities and associations all erect their own flags, emblems and pennants.
