The Los Angeles Lakers will complete the second game of a back-to-back on Wednesday in the Pacific Division against the Sacramento Kings. LeBron James played just 23 minutes in Tuesday’s win over the Grizzlies after returning from a calf injury, allowing him to play two games in a back-to-back. Here’s the latest news on the king’s status.
LeBron James injury update
James won’t be officially named until 4 p.m. ET, but he didn’t play long minutes on Tuesday, setting him up for Wednesday’s game. There are rules that don’t allow star players to rest during nationally televised games, and it’s unlikely the Lakers will seat Anthony Davis and James at the same time. Given Davis’ injury history, he feels like he’s more likely to get a break.
If James is unable to suit up, that would mean more playing time for Rui Hachimura, Cam Reddish and Taurean Prince.
