A Lebanese security source confirms that today is one of the most violent days since Hezbollah began the firefight with Israeli forces
Shelling along the Lebanese-Israeli border intensified Thursday, with Hezbollah saying it fired rockets at eight sites across the border and Israel responding with artillery fire.
In statements released later in the day, Hezbollah said it had struck eight sites in Israel, including a group of Israeli soldiers, a barracks and other military sites.
A Lebanese security source said Israeli shelling, including drone attacks, had hit at least a dozen villages along Lebanon’s southern border.
The Israeli military said in a statement that it had struck a “cell” in Lebanon attempting to fire anti-tank missiles at Israel and fired artillery at other targets.
He added that no casualties had been reported in the bombing of Israel.
The Lebanese security source said today is one of the most violent days since Hezbollah began exchanging fire with Israeli forces following the outbreak of war between Hamas and Israel on October 7.
These firefights represent the deadliest violence on the border since 2006.
More than 70 Hezbollah fighters and 10 civilians were killed in Lebanon, while 10 people, including seven soldiers, were killed in Israel. Thousands more fled on both sides because of the bombing.
