If Serena Williams was worried about how her 6-year-old daughter Olympia would react to the birth of her sister, all of her fears were put to rest. The tennis champ revealed that Olympia “loves” being a big sister to two-month-old Adira, sharing the little girl’s sweet nickname for her older sister.

At the 2023 CFDA Fashion Awards, where Williams was honored with the Style Icon Award, she opened up about her daughters with husband Alexis Ohanian.
“She’s riding it. She loves it,” Williams told entertainment tonight On how Olympia handles being a big sister. She also shared a cherished nickname Olympia gave her: “Adira was like a little baby, so Olympia called her little sister.”
“Little sister”? ! I like it! It shows ownership and love – she’s so proud to call this baby her own and it’s so adorable.

Williams revealed in the interview that Olympia was “praying for her sister,” which was so sweet. (When the couple revealed their gender, you could see how excited Olympia was to have another little girl in the family.)
While Olympia was always excited for her sister’s arrival, Williams herself was a little nervous. “I was worried. I was like, ‘Well, I don’t know if I can love anyone as much as I love Olympia,'” she said. Don’t all mothers of multiple children feel this way? I know I have!
“I was very nervous about it. But I feel like it all worked out,” she added.

In August 2022, Williams announced that she would retire from tennis, in part to have another child.she wrote in Fashion”, “Alexis and I have been trying for another baby for the last year, and we recently got some information from our doctors that reassures me and makes me feel like we can have a baby if we’re ready families add more children. . As an athlete, I definitely don’t want to get pregnant again. “I need to be two feet into the tennis ball or two feet out of the tennis ball.”
At the time, she also revealed how much Olympia wanted a baby sister. “Olympia said this often, even though she knew I was listening,” Williams wrote. “Sometimes before she goes to bed she will ask the Lord to give her a sister. (She wants nothing to do with boys!) I am the youngest of five sisters myself and my sisters are my heroes so this feels like This is a moment where I need to listen very carefully.
