Bronny James’ High School Mixtape

Check out Bronny James’ highlights when he commits to play at USC.

Bronny James has yet to return to practice with the USC Trojans men’s basketball team, months after suffering a cardiac arrest during a team practice. But that didn’t stop the four-star rookie and son of NBA legend LeBron James from celebrating with his teammates Thursday night and enjoying the school’s version of Midnight Madness’ “Trojan HoopLA.”

The home fans cheered as James walked onto the court and did the doggie dance (“Teach me how to do the doggie”). His teammates applauded in the background.

Although James did not participate in the game with the team, his presence is another sign that he is moving towards his goal of returning to the court. The 19-year-old, who underwent successful surgery after suffering a heart attack in July, plans to play for USC this season, his father told reporters last month.

Before his medical scare, James was listed as a projected first-round pick in ESPN’s 2024 NBA mock draft, and his father openly discussed the possibility of playing with him at the next level. Young James is a strong, versatile young guard who can defend multiple positions and hit three-pointers. USC men’s basketball coach Andy Enfield noticed his savvy approach to the game when he first recruited him.

James hasn’t come back yet. But it was nice to see him dancing and having a good time after going through a terrible moment in his life.
