LeBron James and son Bronny shared a helpful handshake ahead of an epic matchup between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Houston Rockets on Sunday.

The 19-year-old Bronny sat courtside as the 38-year-old LeBron scored a season-high 37 points against the Rockets. Four months after Bronny suffered a cardiac arrest during a USC Trojans practice, the Lakers forward put on a show in front of his son.

LeBron scored 37 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists and 3 steals in 40 minutes of play. He also made important free throws with 1.9 seconds left to help the Lakers beat Houston 105-104.

Before the game against the Lakers, Bronny warmed up with the Trojans for the first time since suffering a cardiac arrest in July. While he has yet to make his college debut, fans are excited to see his progress following successful surgery to repair a congenital heart defect.

USC then beat the Bruins 81-70, while Bronny watched from across town as LeBron defied Father Time once again.

“Sometimes you gotta remind people,” James said after Sunday’s game.

James set the stage for Sunday’s performance by scoring 35 points against the Trail Blazers on Friday. The win over Houston was James’ 109th 30-point game in purple and gold since moving to Los Angeles in 2018.

Not only does he pass Kobe Bryant on this list, but LeBron leads the Lakers legend in most NBA games by at least 35 points. James’ 237 points trail only Wilt Chamberlain’s 381 points and Michael Jordan’s 333 points.

He accomplished this feat with extreme efficiency, shooting 19-for-14 (73.7%) from the field against Houston. James is also shooting 58.6% from the field so far this season, while continuing to showcase his strength and athleticism.

The four-time NBA champion has previously expressed his desire to stay in the NBA until Bronny and second child Bryce enter the league.

“Just trying to push the envelope,” James said. ‘Let’s see how far I can take this. I have no idea. I mean, this is me versus. Father Time.

The Lakers are 8-6 on the season and looking to make it three straight wins against the Jazz on Tuesday.
