“I’ve never really seen him in a bad mood”

If LeBron James is having a bad day, he doesn’t let his teammates see it.

“One of the special things about LeBron is I’ve never really seen him in a bad mood,” Lakers guard Austin Reeves told reporters on Sunday. “He’s always full of energy. He’s the oldest player in the NBA and still acts like he’s 20 every day.”

James finished with 37 points, six rebounds and eight assists in Sunday’s victory over the Houston Rockets, continuing a streak of unprecedented greatness for the soon-to-be 39-year-old. The future Hall of Famer is averaging 26.4 points, 8.2 rebounds and 6.5 assists per game this season while shooting a career-high 58.6% from the field.

Although the Lakers’ 8-6 record is not promising, James will almost certainly be on the short list of MVP candidates when the season enters the quarter-finals in a few weeks.

“Just trying to push the envelope,” James said. “Let’s see how far I can take this thing. I don’t know. I mean, it’s me versus Father Time.”

Of course James English He’s human after all, so it’s almost a guarantee that he’s going to have bad days. He was in a bad mood. His moment of rest. We’ve seen a lot of that throughout his career, especially when he was younger.

But James is well aware that he’s in the final moments of his NBA career and seems content to extend his prime well beyond expectations. He is the league’s all-time scoring leader, four-time champion and four-time MVP. Jordan vs. LeBron will forever be a point of contention, etching his name on every reasonable NBA fan’s Mount Rushmore.

The final game against the Lakers was already a money-earning one for him, so it’s understandable that he’d be willing to enjoy the moment and keep his spirits high.
