The Quito Metropolitan Area Fire Department reported on Monday, November 20, the number of emergencies that occurred during the walk from Friday, November 17 to Saturday, November 18.

390 agents from the dioceses of Kuala Baba, Pifo, Cheka and Cambaya responded to 31 emergencies related to threatened abortions, muscle trauma, dehydration, sprains, gastritis and blood pressure problems.

24 support vehicles evacuated affected individuals from the scene and transported them to nearby medical facilities for better medical evaluation.

Furthermore, the entity mentioned that, apart from these inconveniences, they did not encounter any major difficulties in ensuring the arrival of parishioners at the Shrine of Our Lady of Quinchi.

According to ECU911, a total of 791 emergencies were reported during the two-day walk. There were 515 cases for citizen safety, 92 cases for transportation and travel, 83 cases for health management, 79 cases for municipal services, 13 cases for accident management, and 9 cases for risk management.
