Denver Broncos safety Kareem Jackson was suspended four games on Monday for head-butting Minnesota Vikings quarterback Josh Dobbs. sunday night football In week 12.
The hit was not penalized during the game, but the NFL penalized Jackson retroactively after reviewing game tape. The reason Jackson received such a harsh penalty is because he is a repeat offender – the safety had previously been fined four times, executed twice and suspended two games for violations earlier this season.
Broncos safety Justin Simmons defended Jackson on Twitter/X on Monday.
“It’s unbelievable,” Simmons said in response to the suspension. “Dobbs was playing running back on this play. The TE was under center and passed the ball back to Dobbs who wasn’t defenseless. On a 3rd and 1, you’re trying to get every In the battle for yards, how do we stop runners from falling forward?”
Simmons also pointed to a game earlier this season that he said was similar to Jackson’s game. Simmons was not fined for the hit.
