Cachar launches comprehensive STI, HIV, TB and hepatitis campaign

SILCHAR: To mark the launch of the Integrated Campaign on Sexually Transmitted Infections, HIV, Tuberculosis and Hepatitis (ISHTH) in Cachar district, Assam AIDS Control Society organized a function on Monday. The inaugural event, held at Silchar Central Jail, underscored the program’s commitment to reach vulnerable populations even in closed settings. The month-long initiative was launched by Dr Ratna Chakraborty, the respected Cachar district AIDS control officer.

The ISHTH campaign aims to provide comprehensive screening and service delivery to inmates in prisons, other closed settings and correctional facilities. The launch ceremony was attended by Ministry of Health officials and prison authorities, which highlighted the collaborative efforts required to meet the health needs of those in confined settings.
