Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Mumjo responded to pianist Fazil Say

Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Batuhan Mumcu made a written statement on his social media account regarding composer and pianist Fazil Say’s statements in the video he filmed that he “did not receive an invitation to attend the concert at the Ataturk Cultural Center and CSO Ada Ankara.”

Mumko stated that as an artist who has proven his success to the whole world, he supports Psy’s upright stance against the inhumane massacre committed by Israel in Palestine, and that he feels sorry for the injustice that Psy has been subjected to for this reason.

Mumko stated that she felt sad when she learned of Sai’s statements against the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in his post, and stated that he follows his concerts with interest and tries to attend them whenever he has the opportunity.

According to Anatolia News Agency; Mumko stated that he wanted to convey a minor correction based on Sai’s post in order to prevent all possible controversy and used the following phrases:

“Last month, when your concerts in Switzerland were canceled on the basis of your support for our President’s statements on Palestine, as Deputy Minister, I personally called your manager, Mr. Tanner, and told him that we would be very happy to see you.” On stage at the Culture Way Festival in Antalya. Mr. Tanner, I’m busy. “He stated that you could not be included in our festival programme, citing your international programmes.”

Mumcu emphasized that they aim to make culture and art reach everyone as a unifying element in Turkey, and said:

“We are very happy that the artist who successfully represents our country around the world performs his art in all the venues of our Ministry of Culture and Tourism, especially the Ataturk Cultural Center and CSO Ada Ankara. The doors of all our art institutions are wide open to you today, as they were yesterday.” I would like to emphasize this in particular.”
