Tom Brady celebrated Wayne Rooney’s first win as Birmingham City manager but some fans are still unhappy with the Manchester United legend.
Rooney recorded his first win as Blues manager in his sixth game against Championship bottom side Sheffield Wednesday. Substitute Jordan James scored the winner in the 82nd minute after Juninho Bacuna’s equalizer canceled out George Byers’ opener for the struggling Owls.
In August, NFL icon Brady was announced as a minority shareholder in the club following its acquisition by Knighthead Capital Management LLC. However, he was quickly criticized after the club decided to sack John Eustace, who had guided the Blues into the play-off places, and replace him with Rooney.

A poor start to his reign has already led to calls for his sacking, meaning Wednesday’s victory came as a relief to everyone at St Andrew’s. When James shot up the three-pointer, Brady replied, “Get in there!” Follow the club on X (formerly Twitter) for goal alerts.
However, Birmingham fans did not get carried away.One told Brady: “It’s time for you to invest more time in this project @tombrady, go to the training ground to check on injuries and physical fitness. “

A second said: “A win is a win but it’s just Sheffield Wednesday. Gotta build on midweek and next week!” A third added: “A welcome win but I fear it overshadows Cracks, no way to convince bottom clubs.”
A fourth posted: “Btw, barely beating bottom of the league is not a good result.” Another simply said: “We were just horrible.”
Rooney himself was not satisfied with the performance in the first half. He said after the game: “We didn’t play with the energy I wanted in the first half and I made the players aware of it, but in the second half we and they were much better.

“I’ve seen improvement every week, so if the first half had been four weeks ago I would have understood it, but compared to what we did during the international break it’s unrecognizable.”
