Seven-time Super Bowl champion and former Michigan quarterback Tom Brady spoke Tuesday on SiriusXM’s “Let’s Go!” With Tom Brady, Larry Fitzgerald and Jim Gray,” about Michigan beating Ohio State for the third straight year.
“This is a tough team to beat,” Brady said of Ohio State. “It’s such a tight rivalry. I even hate the word ‘The’ because of Ohio State. “All those guys who would put ‘The’ in the beginning. “
Michigan fans took the field by storm after the Wolverines won 30-24 at Michigan Stadium on Saturday. The Wolverines are preparing to face Iowa State in the Big Ten Championship Game this week.
“I think that’s a big part of these rivalries. You see the fans getting into it,” Brady said. “I can’t even remember the last time an NFL field was attacked. It was so cool to see the whole field and you’d see some overhead shots of things being engulfed to show you what it meant to those players.
“That was a great moment of unity, right? I think when you see sports that can bring people together, that’s why we love sports. Two incredible teams, two great histories. . It means a lot (because) you’re looking for this game 364 days a year. And then the game starts and there’s a winner and a loser, and the winner gets to celebrate and the loser goes to find out. You know, you worry about something like Ohio State The team gets stronger. That’s ultimately why they’re able to move their program forward. Again, if you handle it right, losses can fuel wins.”
