LeBron James will get his own museum

LeBron James’ home court will become a museum dedicated to the NBA star’s basketball career.

LeBron James’ home courtA museum dedicated to the Lakers star and his many milestones will open Nov. 25 in Akron.

It will be a multimedia experience; the museum will recreate the apartment where he lived with his mother, Gloria, as well as artifacts from his childhood, high school career and championship titles. Cleveland, Miami and Los Angeles Lakers.

The museum is located in House Thirty Thirty, a facility established by the James Foundation for the community where LeBron grew up.

“My dream has always been to put Akron on the map, so having a place in my hometown where I can share my journey with fans around the world means a lot to me,” James said. “I’ve held onto a lot of things over the years, and I always knew there would be a time and place for them to come to light.”

Items on display include the all-white suit James wore to the 2003 NBA Draft, his McDonald’s All-American Game jersey and an original St. Vincent backboard and hoop. Mary High School, James first came to the attention of basketball fans as a teenager.

James, a four-time NBA champion, will turn 39 next month and will be entering his 21st season in the NBA. Last year he surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to become the league’s all-time scoring leader.
