(CNN) — Bronny James, the eldest son of NBA superstar LeBron James, is fully able to play basketball after suffering a cardiac arrest in July, a spokesperson for the James family said in a statement on Thursday.

James, 19, a freshman at the University of Southern California, suffered cardiac arrest during a basketball practice at the University of Southern California and was taken to the hospital. He was later diagnosed with congenital heart disease.
