But the key player already at the helm is none other than Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who recently joined the likes of Michael Jordan and Allen Iverson.

The Canadian All-Star is having a fantastic season and has contributed greatly to the Thunder’s current standing in the Western Conference.

SGA joins The Answer and Michael Jordan

The Oklahoma City Thunder faced off against the New York Knicks in their most recent game. The Thunder won the game on the back of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s current hot streak. Gilgeous-Alexander was one of the first players the Thunder decided to build around after the Paul George trade, and he certainly paid off. In his final game with the Thunder, SGA was able to join the likes of Michael Jordan and Allen Iverson. According to Thunder media member Ryan Stiles, “He joins Michael Jordan and Allen Iverson as the only players to accomplish the feat since officially first recording a steal in 1973-74. “

This is Gilgeous-Alexander’s 10th consecutive game with 25 points and 2 steals. This feat was accomplished only by two other NBA legends.

Gilgeous-Alexander has delivered a string of stunning performances this month. In the past 10 games, SGA’s highest score is 43 points. And his lowest score was only 25 points.

The 6-foot-6 guard is averaging 31.0 points, 6.4 assists and 5.7 rebounds on a 63.6 true shooting percentage so far this season.

Thunder may have struck gold with young core

The Oklahoma City Thunder hit the reset button hard when Damian Lillard sidelined the team in the 2018-19 playoffs. Since then, the Thunder’s front office has amassed numerous draft picks for the team’s future. The Thunder eventually won the game with a score of 129-120. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jalen Williams led the way with 36 points each. Gilgeous-Alexander also had 8 assists, 7 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 blocks.
