The New England Patriots added an outside name to their roster on Wednesday after retaining seven members of their final practice squad.
The organization has signed offensive lineman Michael Jordan to a future agreement through 2024, according to NFL Transaction News.
The 25-year-old Jordan entered the league with the Cincinnati Bengals with the 136th pick in the fourth round of the 2019 draft. Since then, the Ohio State product has appeared in 55 career games, including 29 starts, with the Carolina Panthers and Green Bay Packers.
Jordan is a veteran with 2,135 snaps on offense and 185 snaps on special teams. In addition to being a qualified tight end, he also plays the guard position. The 6-foot-6, 315-pound blocker returned a fumble for a touchdown against Carolina after claiming waivers from Cincinnati in 2022. Eventually becoming a free agent before last August’s 53-man deadline, he signed with Green Bay’s practice squad in September and remained there until his release just before last weekend’s divisional round.
Running back Ke’Shawn Vaughn, wide receiver T.J. Luther, offensive tackle Andrew Stueber, defensive tackle Trysten Hill, defensive end William Bradley-King, linebacker Joe Giles-Harris and cornerback Azizi Hearn mark New England’s previous Future Agreement.
Tight end Matt Sokol, center Cody Lacy and cornerbacks Bren Borders and William Hooper also finished the season on the practice squad, with their contracts expiring in mid-January.
