Stephen Jackson’s 2010 NBA All-Star Game snub still hurts. The NBA veteran recently spoke about being left out of the conversation despite earning All-Star honors. Jackson also revealed that despite Michael Jordan’s efforts to secure a spot for him, he was not included.

All-Star selections are based on a variety of factors, including performance and statistics, fan votes, player votes and more. According to Jackson, he had enough reasons to succeed.

The 2003 NBA champion said, “My situation was with Gerald Wallace, having success in Charlotte, and everyone knew I should make it. Everybody thought I was going to make it before him.” There were many factors that contributed to Jackson’s failure to advance, and even though it’s been more than a decade now, he still feels a certain way about it. The NBA veteran averaged 20.6 points, 5 rebounds and 3.6 assists that season. Jackson also revealed how Charlotte Bobcats (now Charlotte Hornets) owner Michael Jordan called David Stern on his behalf. He said, “Everyone was really upset that Jordan had to call David Stern to talk about it, but I was hurt, man.”

Jackson said this was one of the lowest points of his career, which is why it still hurts. The NBA veteran is as close as he’s ever come to making an All-Star team. Jackson retired without playing in a single All-Star game during his career.

Jordan’s trash-talking stories are well known, but his use of trash-talking his own players on the Bobcats roster is a relatively unknown one. The incident occurred around the same time Jackson’s All-Star snub became the talk of the town. On the other hand, the team was beaten by every other opponent in the league. Since its owner is arguably the greatest basketball player of all time, he had to take matters into his own hands.

Jordan showed up to a practice just to show the team their position.In typical Jordan fashion, at almost 50 years old, he drafted a group of fringe role players and ultimately beat “a team” Of the Bobcats.
