The incidence of influenza in the Valencian community continues to decrease, falling by 35% in the fifth week, from 126.9 to 82 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, while hospitalizations due to respiratory illnesses fell by 4% to 15.1.
For its part, COVID-19 infections fell by 19%, from 50.6 to 41 cases, while respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infections fell by 15.3%, from 78 to 66 cases.
Therefore, this situation appears in the latest bulletin of the Surveillance System for Acute Respiratory Infections (ARI) of the Autonomous Community of Valencia (SIVIRA CV), which analyzes the evolution of coronavirus, influenza and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) in the fifth week of the year , from January 29th to February 4th.
As a result, the overall incidence of acute respiratory tract infections has dropped slightly, from 829.6 cases in the past seven days to 804.5 cases, accounting for 3.03%. Even so, it is still higher than the national average of 587.3 cases. The Ministry of Health last week lifted the mandatory use of masks in the Centers of Health and Social Hygiene in light of the continued decline in incidence rates.
