Variety broke the news that the secret film project starring Jordan will be directed by Coogler. Traditional studios such as Sony and Universal are said to be bidding against Warner Bros.

Coogler will reportedly begin production this summer before Warner Bros. locks up the rights. This is considered a fast lane in today’s film environment.
