Five-time All-Star makes hilarious comparisons to Michael Jordan after explosive revelations about Isiah Thomas

Have you ever seen someone learn directly from their opponents how to beat them? Detroit Pistons legend Isiah Thomas has done just that for nearly his entire career. Former Indiana Pacers superstar Reggie Miller joins “NBA Insider” to show how Thomas pulled it off while also reminding himself not to forget about Michael Jordan.

Miller shared, “In the early ’80s, Isiah used to travel with the Celtics after the playoffs. I found it strange…Isiah would be at games…he was on the plane, on the bus. (With the Celtics), I was like, “Why? ! “. He said, ‘I need to know how to win… I have to know everything about them’.” The shocking discovery left his colleagues speechless.

Interestingly, Miller hopes he can do that with Michael Jordan’s Chicago Bulls. Finally, he hilariously added: “It would be like me asking Michael Jordan when I was traveling, ‘Can I ride the bus with you?’ Hell, no. “Is that going to happen? ! ” Miller’s relationship with Thomas is less about travel and more about loss. Regardless, he continues to reveal the Pistons legend’s infamous past.

Thomas would travel with Larry Bird and his teammates, and he would book his own tickets to the Finals just to watch and learn more about the Celtics. Miller credited Magic Johnson with ticketing Thomas for the Lakers-Celtics matchup. Surprisingly, this was the decision of the Pistons champions themselves.

Michael Jordan analogies aside, did Isiah Thomas’ unexpected efforts finally pay off?

Miller and many others may find Thomas’ journey with his rivals strange. However, I benefited from it in later years. His first victory came against Larry Bird’s Celtics in the 1987 playoffs. This is one of the most exciting battles in the NBA playoffs, spanning 7 games. Thomas averaged 24.1 points per game in the playoffs that year. But they failed to win the final championship.

In 1988, Thomas faced the Celtics again, and the result was the same. The Detroit Pistons won 4-2, but once again they failed to win the championship. 1989 was the most defining moment of Thomas’ career. The Pistons not only swept the Celtics 3-0 in the playoffs, but also won the first NBA championship in team history that season. Well, they won their second championship the next year, but they didn’t face the Celtics.
