Shannon Sharpe and Gilbert Arenas criticize Scottie Pippen, Horace Grant and Luke Longley for hosting ‘Bulls-less’ tour as Bulls champion prepares to take aim at former teammate Michael ·Jordan and the “Last Dance” documentary series.
The public appearance tour, which will be conducted in partnership with Australia’s National Basketball League, is expected to revive recent criticism of the ESPN documentary, which Pippen previously claimed was untrue and “glorified” Jordan.
Regardless, Sharpe and Arenas have no interest in hearing Pippen, Grant and Longley discuss the past.
Arenas said on the “Nightcap” podcast, “I don’t want to hear bullshit about no champion complaining about being a champion.
“I give a shit about what Michael Jordan did to help you asshole become a champion. Because when people come to you, that’s what you do here,” he said. Pointing to his ring finger.
He continued: “No matter what the cost, keep going.” I don’t want (people) to complain about how brutal it is… You’re the champ, right? I think that’s the most important thing.
“You’ve told us that, championship or not. You’re mocking Charles Barkley, you’re mocking Patrick Ewing, and then you tell us you don’t like it? Is he a bad guy? Is he a bad owner? Que? No. ‘
Sharp then imitated the former Bulls trio in a mocking voice, saying, “He painted me as a B-*-*-*-H. He made people think I was a garden tool.” I can’t do this, I have to clear my name. I want my compensation.
Grant claimed in 2020 that the documentary was “about 90 percent bullshit.”
“I would say (the documentary) is interesting, but we know as teammates that about 90 percent of it is bullshit,” he said on ESPN 1000’s Kap and Co podcast.
“That’s not true — because (Jordan) said a lot of things to some of his teammates, and his teammates came back to him. But all of that was taken out of the documentary, if you want to call it a documentary. .”
Pippen also blasted “The Last Dance” as his relationship with his former teammate soured after his career ended.
“They celebrated Michael Jordan but didn’t give enough credit to me and my proud teammates,” Pippen, 58, wrote in his 2021 memoir “No Guard.”
“Michael should take a large part of the blame. The producers gave him editorial control over the final product. Otherwise the file would not have been released. “He was the lead and the director. “
