Vaccinations have started in all health centers and hospitals in the province of Misiones

The 2024 influenza vaccination campaign launches today in the province of Misiones and other regions of the country, targeting an estimated 250,000 missionaries.

The Minister of Public Health, Héctor González, together with the Deputy Minister, participated in the launching ceremony at the Itaembé Guazú Hospital and were received by the Director, Gloria Zambrano. It was also launched across the province at the same time.

The 2024 flu vaccine contains the following strains:

Target population

When included in the national vaccination calendar, the following risk groups must receive annual influenza vaccination:

  • health personnel

  • Pregnant women in any trimester of pregnancy

  • Postpartum

  • Children aged 6 to 24 months (inclusive)

  • People aged 2 to 64 years old (inclusive) with risk factors: chronic respiratory disease, heart disease, congenital or acquired immune deficiencies (non-oncological hematological diseases), oncological hematological diseases and transplantation Patients with, morbid obesity, diabetes, chronic renal failure on dialysis or anticipated admission to the hospital on dialysis within the next six months, severe delayed sexual maturation in children under 18 years of age, genetic syndromes with respiratory compromise and severe congenital malformations Neuromuscular diseases, long-term acetylsalicylic acid therapy in children under 18 years of age, cohabitant diseases in patients with oncohematological diseases and cohabitants in premature infants weighing less than 1,500 g.
