A casting company has hired extras in the upcoming Michael B. Jordan movie, which will be set in Donaldsonville and other New Orleans-area locations.
Caballero Casting LLC has posted available performances on its Facebook page for the “Grilled Cheese” project, which will be directed by Jordan’s frequent collaborator Ryan Coogler.
The pair are best known for Black Panther and Creed.
As previously announced by Donaldsonville Mayor Leroy Sullivan, film crews have been positioned along Railroad Avenue in the city’s historic downtown area, with filming expected to begin in the coming weeks.
In addition to Ascension Parish, the 1930s-set film will also feature locations in New Orleans, Belchurch, St. Bernard, Braithwaite, Tickford, Hammond, Napoleon, according to the casting post Photo by Weir and Thibodeau.
Donaldsonville has been the setting for several movies in recent decades, including “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,” “Bonnie and Clyde” and “We Got a Ghost.”
