Before Justin Thomas was known as a two-time major champion and one of the best golfers in the world, he was helping six-time NBA champion Michael Jordan win on the golf course.
No, seriously. When Thomas was 15, Jordan would play on Thomas’ father’s course while Thomas caddied. During one round, Jordan stole Thomas as a teammate, unaware that the teenager was turning pro, and the results were as you’d expect – young Thomas helped Jordan win, and walked away with thousands of dollars.
Thomas, 30, shared the story on Monday The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
“I had four birdies in seven holes and helped pay for my first car,” Thomas said. It sounds like Jordan made a wise decision.
