Kevin Harvick’s bid to win the Cup Series title in his final full-time season ended last September at Bristol Motor Speedway.
Harvick finished P29 and was eliminated in the round of 16 in the Cup playoffs. That day, Harvick walked out of the tunnel with his head down until a sports legend caught up with him.it is Michael JordanNBA legend and 23XI Racing co-owner.
Jordan put his hand on Harvick’s neck and reminded him that he had nothing to worry about, something Harvick is still grateful for months later.
“Michael has to be one of the most beautiful normal guys ever,” Harvick said on his show. Fun times with Kevin Harvick this week. “We were in Bristol last year and had just had a very traumatic day. I walked out with my head down. Walking down the tunnel. Suddenly this big hand reached behind me and grabbed me by the neck.” He said : “Kid, you have nothing to worry about. ” When I look back, I’m like, “Oh my God, that’s Michael Jordan. “He grabbed me by the neck and said, ‘Son, you’ve had a great career. You need to keep your head up.’
“He walked me all the way out of the tunnel to the top of the tunnel and gave me the biggest boost along the way. When I got to the top of the tunnel, I thought, ‘Everything is fine.'”
Kevin Harvick ends Hall of Fame career
Jordan is right. Harvick has nothing to worry about. After all, Harvick is coming off a Hall of Fame career that any driver would sign up for.
Harvick has 60 Cup Series wins in his career, ranking 10th on the all-time wins list. He won his first and only Cup Series title in 2014, his first season with Stewart-Haas Racing.With his racing career over, Harvick turned to the announcing booth, joining fox sports 2024 season.
