The action comedy starring Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot broke records when it was released in 2021, and Netflix immediately ordered not one, but two straight sequels with all three stars returning. We are now more than halfway through 2023 and updates on Red Notice 2 have been few and far between.
Netflix hasn’t officially shared anything, but Gadot recently confirmed that things are still moving forward. Speaking to Collider about her new Netflix film Heart of Stone, Gadot revealed that she’s read the script and everyone in attendance is “so excited” for what’s about to happen.
Gadot said, “We’re all talking about it.” “I don’t know if I can say anything! I’ve already read the second script and it’s…wow! We are all very excited.”

The Red Notice 2 script mention by Gadot is the first update on the film since October, when producers Beau Flynn and Hiram Garcia spoke to Collider about the future of the franchise.
Flynn said, “We have scripts for Red Notice 2 and about 3. The plan is that if Hiram and I want, we can do these movies back to back.” “But it all depends on the script and how we feel and how Dwayne, Gail and Ryan feel. But this franchise is a bomb and apparently Netflix really wants it, and Rossen (Marshall Thurber, director and writer) is committed.
Garcia said, “Yeah, Rossen is working and we talked about it just the other day.” “He is very busy and this is his creation. So, he worked hard. We can’t wait to get in on the action and see the new draft he’ll be delivering very soon.
How many Red Notice sequels will there be?
There are actually two Red Notice movies in the works, with Netflix moving forward with a few sequels that could be filmed in parallel. According to Flynn, writer/director Rawson Marshall Thurber is writing both films.
Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds, and Gal Gadot are expected to return for the Red Notice sequel, but there is no word on when these films might go into production.
