50th Hip Hop Anniversary limited collection of 5Tate of Mind to celebrate 50 years of Hip Hop
Next August 11th we will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first historic block party created by DJ Kool Herc in the Bronx, an event that is considered the spark in hip hop history.
During this half century, this culture has evolved incredibly and has had an unimaginable impact on society, music and, of course, fashion at the time. Streetwear is clearly one of the many ways that Double H lives in the eyes of the entire world on a daily basis.
5Tote of Mind has decided to pay tribute to this anniversary with a special limited edition collection.
Rocco Pezzella aka Okeroko (artist, writer and co-founder of Avantguardia) has created 58 portraits of artists fundamental to the development of the scene, which eventually appeared printed on the T-shirts of the capsule collection. Thus we find Grandmaster Flash, Rakim, Dr. Dre, LL Cool J, Jay-Z, Rick Ross, Nicki Minaj, Drake and many more rappers performing in an absolutely phenomenal way.

But that is not all! 5Tote of Mind also took care of building one to celebrate the anniversary special mixtape, 32 artists close to the brand chose two of their favorite tracks that made them fall in love with hip-hop. That’s why they collaborate on this mixtape marrakech, gu, Noise narcos, Shablo, bass master, next castle, enzo dong, johnny marseille, Ty1, ketma126, dada, Dj Shock, NSI, carl Very good Serious efforts.
The project celebrates not only the greatest hits, but also the most profound and meaningful tracks that have made hip hop a tool of expression for marginalized communities and a voice for social change. A tribute to hip hop culture as a whole, selected by some of the artists who have made an indelible mark on the Italian music scene.
A sonic journey that embraces a variety of eras and sub-genres, uncovering traces that have shaped the movement and influenced subsequent generations.
