New York, July 12 – The exhibition “A Better Planet, a Better World” opened at the United Nations in New York, created by Italian artist and multimedia journalist Alessandra Mattanza, with contributions from Barack and Michelle Obama, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kevin Costner . , Cate Blanchett, Greta Thunberg and others.
The exhibition, open until August 28, was sponsored by the Italian Permanent Representation to the United Nations on the sidelines of the HLPF, the High-Level Political Forum for Sustainable Development underway at the United Nations in New York.
Curated by architect Augusto Ferretti, the exhibition includes photographs and artistic works that raise awareness on the issue of environmental protection and invite collective action to save the planet and its inhabitants. Among the various sections, there is also an installation on the resilience of indigenous peoples and one on the importance of recycling. The exhibit is linked to Matanza’s book, titled “SOS Planet Earth – A Group of Voices to Save the World”, featuring Elon Musk, Brad Pitt, and Harrison Ford, as well as Obama, DiCaprio, and many others. A journalist, writer and fine art photographer, Alessandra Matanza has lived abroad for more than twenty years, mainly in Munich, Sydney, New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
