Amber Heard is back in the spotlight — and on social media.
On Friday, the actress shared a picture of herself smiling on stage at the 69th Taormina Film Festival in Italy, which she attended last weekend to promote her film. in the fire,
It was Heard’s first appearance at a film festival since her controversial defamation trial with ex-husband Johnny Depp, which ran from April 11 to June 1, 2022.
“Thank you for such an incredibly warm welcome at the Taormina Film Festival for my latest film In the Fire. It was an unforgettable weekend. #inthefire,” Heard, 37, captioned the post, which was her first post on Instagram since December 2022.
“Yes. There she is ✨,” read a comment from Luca Calvani, who was with Heard in Thriller and also appeared at the festival with Heard and her director, Connor Allyn.

Heard faced Depp, 60, in a defamation lawsuit last spring Edward Scissorhands The actor sued her, with a seven-member jury ruling largely in favor of Depp, although Heard won one of her three counterclaims.

The director added, “She’s still a shining light … and to go through something that horrible and to be able to come out on the other side and be whole, I can’t imagine it.”
Calvani had similar words for the actress, telling Deadline, “Someone who’s endured such hardship and been able to overcome it with grace, no matter which side you’re on, no matter what you believe or what social media outlets you plug into or whatever your hashtags are, you have to give credit to this woman’s incredible journey, and she can teach us a few things as far as resilience and courage go.”

Allin also spoke to People at the Italy-based festival, where he said Heard “has an incredibly bright future” and how impressed he was with her performance in his thriller.
“I think in the fire Showcasing his talent as an actor. I know it’s something he’s very proud of and it’s something we’re very excited to release to the public.” He added, “I think this will be a great opportunity for him to talk beyond the trial and things and be a platform for a great comeback.”
Additionally, Allin told People that he could imagine the Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom Actress to direct films one day.
He added, “As a director, I would never expect to have more competition than there is already. But Amber has the ability, intelligence and charisma to direct or write, if she wants to.”
