What vaccinations do students and college students need to be in class?

According to the Ministry of Health, the following are the minimum vaccination requirements for elementary, middle and high school students for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year:

• Four doses of diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis vaccine (DTaP, DTP, DT), as long as the last dose was given on or after age 4.
• Get three doses of polio vaccine (IPV), as long as the last dose was given at or after age 4.
• If you get a dose of Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) vaccine at 15 months or later.
• Three doses of the hepatitis B vaccine.
• Two doses of common measles, rubella, and mumps (MMR) vaccine.
• Two doses of varicella vaccine (VAR)
• Just one dose of pneumococcal conjugate vaccine at 24 months or later.
• Provide one dose of tetanus, diphtheria and acellular pertussis (Tdap) vaccine to all adolescents aged 11-18.
• Get one dose of meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MCV4) for all adolescents 11 years and older. All teens who get vaccinated between the ages of 11 and 12 need a booster dose at age 16. Any adolescent who was vaccinated between the ages of 13 and 15 will also need a booster dose between the ages of 16 and 18. If the first dose was given at age 16 or older, no booster vaccine is required.
• All teens ages 11 to 18 (up to the day before turning 19) get one dose of the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine and need to complete the series of vaccinations shown on the vaccination chart to provide the necessary immunity to the virus.

Requirements for new students under the age of 21

• Tetanus, diphtheria and acellular pertussis (Tdap) booster dose or Tetanus diphtheria (Td) booster dose as appropriate.
• Two doses of common measles, rubella, and mumps (MMR) vaccine
• Three doses of the hepatitis B vaccine.
• Get three doses of polio vaccine (OPV/IPV) if the last dose was given at or after age 4.
