Poor things, finally a TRAILER for Lanthimos with Emma Stone!

Never change the winning team! Yorgos Lanthimos again wanted Emma Stone to become the protagonist of one of his projects, and now Poor things Reality: The film is set to be released in theaters in September (maybe after visiting the Lido in Venice? Probably), after a long post-production.

Previous feature film Lanthimos, Darling, made a splash by winning the Silver Lion and Women’s Volpi Cup for Olivia Colman, who later also won an Oscar for her outstanding performance. However, the other two main characters were no less, both nominated in the Best Supporting Actress category, namely Rachel Weisz and, of course, Emma Stone.

Among fans of the famous actress and Greek director, the excitement rose immediately after the announcement of a new collaboration between them. However, the stone comes from cinematic silence over two years, taking a hiatus after years of media presence, a hiatus during which she also became a mother. Fans of the American actress can’t wait to see her back at work in a film that, from the first steps and the first trailer, promises to surprise and which, according to her, she loved to shoot.

Poor things: here is the first official trailer

On the other hand, for those familiar with Lanthimos’s poetics, it’s not surprising to see an outrageous trailer, outrageous and sarcastic. On the other hand, the story based on the novel of the same name by Alasdair Gray is clearly unique.

The film follows the adventures of Bella Baxter, a young woman. brought back to life scientist Godwin Baxter (Wille Dafoe), who protects her while she wants to explore the world. Bella decides to elope with lawyer Duncan Wedderburn (Mark Ruffalo) to travel across continents in search of freedom and equality that she didn’t have in her time.

grotesque tones and camp trailers that quite easily resemble some of the director’s previous work are very promising: Poor things is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated films of the next film season.
