Participate in Third National Vaccination Day – Tolima State Health Secretary

– More than 7,000 doses of the vaccine are expected to be given to boys and girls under the age of 5.
The Tolima Department of Health through the Expanded Program on Immunization (PAI) cordially invites all residents of the province to participate in the third National Vaccination Day in Tolima this year on July 29th from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm 00.WhatsApp Image 2023-07-29 10.38.10 AM (1)

The main goal of the day is to achieve optimal vaccination coverage, covering all biological products available in the program to reduce susceptible groups in the national vaccination program and to achieve COVID-19 vaccination for the entire population.

During the third meeting, special attention will be given to children under the age of 6 who will be vaccinated against influenza. Likewise, girls aged 9 to 17 will be protected against HPV and pregnant women will be vaccinated against diphtheria, tetanus and acellular pertussis; women of childbearing age between 10 and 49 will be vaccinated against tetanus.

The expected goal for the child population is to reach 2,165 boys and girls through the full program. The goal is to complete the program at 2,168 for one-year-old boys and girls and 2,778 for five-year-old boys and girls.

“On the third National Vaccination Day, we have 22 biological products that protect against 27 diseases, and we will have protection against diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, hepatitis B, meningitis (caused by influenza B, rotavirus, Pneumococcus, polio, seasonal flu, measles, rubella, mumps, chickenpox, yellow fever and HPV, this is to prevent cervical cancer,” Anna Devi, a support nurse for the Expanded Immunization Program in Tolima Ya said.
