Less than two months from the seventh edition of RIFF – Riviera International Film Festival 2023, the first guests of the event have been revealed.
When will the RIFF?
The festival will be held, like every year, in the splendid setting of the Baia del Silenzio, in Sestri Levante from 9 to 14 May.

The British actress Emily Mortimer (Notting Hill, Shutter Island, Hugo Cabret, Match Points, Lars and a girl of his own) will be this year’s jury president. Among the Masterclasses, the musician and producer Mobythe screenwriter Ludovica Rampoldi and the director and screenwriter Francesca Comencini, the latter together with the set designer Paki Meduri.

The RIFF has always valued young cinema starting, of course, with the main competition reserved for the best directors under 35. The 2023 edition will see an entire day dedicated to new talents in Italian cinema.
Riviera Film Festival: the names
In a panel open to the public, Aurora Giovinazzo (Freaks Out), Ludovica Martino (My brother, my sister), Giancarlo Commare (Masculine singular) and Filippo Scotti (It was the hand of God). Two other panels will instead be dedicated to two highly successful series: Sea Out with its young performers e Blanca with Maria Chiara Giannetta. Among the many screenings, Marco Bocci will present a preview of his film as a director Hunting.
Emily Mortimer
His film debut takes place in Spirits in the Darkness, in the cast with Douglas-Kilmer. 2007 works with Ryan Gosling in the independent film Lars and his whole girl. She’s cast in Transsiberian and she’s cast in action Redbelt. She also joins the cast of Number 13, thriller that tells the making of Alfred Hitchcock’s directorial debut. In 2009 she returns to play Nicole in the sequel to the 2006 film: The Pink Panther 2. The following year she works with Martin Scorsese in the role of Rachel Solando, in Shutter Island. Later in 2011 she again with Martin Scorsese, in Hugo Cabret, and in the comedy by Jesse Peretz Our idiot brother. In 2018 she is the protagonist of the film by Isabel Coixet The house of books. Also in 2018 she is Jane Banks in Mary Poppins Returns with a splendid Emily Blunt.
