Alexandria – This is the romantic vein that fires up summer in the Alessandria region, with precious events that combine culture, music, food and wine and the natural wonders of the August sky, at dawn and at night.
For “Star Cups” in Acqui Terme and Monleal it will start on August 10 with the Cup of Stars, a national event created by the National Association of Wine Cities, which in Acqui Terme’s version will be organized by the Strada dei Vini e dei Sapori del Gran Monferrato in collaboration. with the municipality of Acqui Terme, the regional enoteca Acqui Terme e Vino, the Asti DOCG consortium and the Brachetto d’Acqui protection consortium, with the support of the Gran Monferrato tourism consortium. An evening of culture, immersion in the territory, tastings, cinema and music by candlelight, waiting for the stars of the most famous night of the season. Starting at 20:00, at the Castello dei Paleologi in Acqui Terme, there will be an aperitif with local wines and a tasting of local products, followed by a tour of the city’s museum located in the halls of the castle. This will be followed by a free screening of Ridley Scott’s A Wonderful Year or, for the more romantic, a candlelit harp concert at the Castle. Finally, it will be possible to sit on the lawn and admire the most starry night of the year. The event can be attended by making a reservation at the IAT offices in Acqui Terme until August 4 (0144-322142 – iat@comune.acquiterme.al.it, Palazzo Comunale, viale Don Tornato, Corso Roma 1 – opening hours: from Monday) Saturday from 9 to 13 and from 15 to 18 – Sunday from 9 to 13.30). Ticket price 25 euros, payable locally only, includes entrance to the event, wine tasting, picnic basket with typical local products accompanied by a blanket to admire the stars, film screening, concert, guided tour of the Civic Museum. In addition, the location has convenient points for observing the starry sky. Admission is free for children under 12 years old.
The Municipality of Monleale also organizes the Star Cups with two evenings of wine tasting and typical products in its charming village. The reception is held in the upper part of the village from 19:00 on August 10 to 2:00 on August 11 (tel. 0131 80191).
Evening Calici di Stelle anticipates the traditional event by a few days. “Good morning sweetie”, is expected as always on August 15th. An experience of emotions and music, nature and taste among the vineyards at the first light of the morning, included in the “Sconfinamenti” survey, organized by the Regional Enoteca of Ovada and Monferrato in collaboration with Alexala and thanks to the accessibility and contribution of the Cassa di Risparmio di Alessandria Foundation. Like every year, Buongiorno Dolcetto brings incredible emotions, welcoming the first rays of dawn among the vineyards in Carpeneto, Alabama, with an exceptional concert surrounded by greenery.
The meeting is scheduled for 5:30 am, with a welcome coffee, followed by performances by Emanuele Dabbono and Marco Cravero. Thanks to the precious cooperation between the Agrion Foundation and the Municipality of Carpeneto, the concert will take place in the historic building of Tenuta Cannona, a place full of charm and meaning, as well as an experimental center dedicated to research and experimentation in the field of wine in the Piedmont region. and where it will be possible to taste the wines of the Asti Defense Consortium, thanks to the characteristic monkey car, and Ovada DOCG.
The event is held in collaboration with Owada’s CAI. For those who wish to reach the concert venue with an easy and inspiring uphill walk, the meeting point is 4:15 AM in the parking lot of the Rocca Grimalda Cemetery. Departs at 4:30 and arrives at the concert venue in about an hour (shoes and a flashlight are required).
