“But isn’t it cold?” The question arises spontaneously admiring the latest autumn-winter collections presented during the fashion weeks in New York, London, Milan and Paris. There are no more between seasons, the planet is overheating. All true, but according to what we’ve seen on the catwalk, the trend for the next “cold” season seems to be quite drastic – and even a little nonsense.
Wearing a skimpy bra in the middle of winter? Here is the most avant-garde trend on the fashion scene, carried out by brands of the caliber of Gucci, Ann Demeulemeester, Vaquera and LaQuan Smith. Of course, even the summer collections anticipated the trend on the runway, but we more or less justified them by the fact that a bra in summer would not cause as much of a stir as in winter. And if you think that this trend could never leave the catwalk, you are wrong: Dua Lipa has worn the bra as outerwear many times – also showing it on her Instagram profile -, Zendaya has combined it with the animalier set at the Louis Vuitton and Chiara Ferragni show at the Etro show. Bianca Balti instead showed off the bra under a cut-out dress at the Dolce & Gabbana show, while Leonie Hanne chose a jeweled bra for the Elie Saab show. And then there’s Julia Fox, the undisputed queen of skimpy bras also in January…
But even more recent and less “cold” events have seen the manifestation of this trend thanks, for example, to Hunter Schafer, who showed off the infamous Ann Demeulemeester feather during the night of the Oscars, and Olivia Wilde who chose the bra leather by Gabriela Hearst for the Vanity Fair after party. In short, the trend is manifesting itself far and wide in the world of celebs, it only remains to understand if the game is worth the candle.
