In anticipation of the British Grand Prix, a new Formula 1 team will appear at the Silverstone circuit: Apex. The single-seat cars will be driven by two well-known faces, Brad Pitt AND Damson Idris. In fact, the two actors will be interpreting Sonny Hayes and Joshua Pierce, the protagonists of the director’s action movie pilot Joseph Kosinski, original Apple movie, as yet untitled.
Star Brad Pitt, in particular, will actually take to the track, taking advantage of the moment when there are no racing sessions. The actor gets behind the wheel Formula 2 developed by Mercedes for video filming, which will be carried out using a 6K micro camera located inside the cabin.
“Very soon we will start filming at Silverstone and you will see that this will be the first film that takes place almost during the race weekend,” explained the president and CEO of F1. Stefano Domenicali – this is going to be quite invasive in terms of production and it’s something we have to control in some way, but it will be another way to show that F1 never stops.
There is also room for a Formula 1 star such as the seven-time world champion. Lewis Hamilton, co-producer of the film: “We have a really fantastic and diverse line-up,” said the champion, “Joe’s goal is to make us as much an integral part of this sport as possible. It’s important to me to make sure it’s authentic and all the fans see the authenticity and say, “It’s believable” and look at racing from a different perspective than what you might see on TV. Now I spend a lot of time helping Joe and his team set up the script, it’s an incredible process and I really enjoy it.”
There is still a long way to go before the release date of the film, expected at the turn of 2024 and 2025.
