It is a movie that tells real story of sex scandal who got into Fox News and it shocked the United States, showing all the abuses that took place behind the scenes of the media empire. In this way, this film is almost a true manifesto of the MeToo era, telling how women with different tasks and different “powers” can equally become victims of male power.

The year is 2016, and a journalist is chosen to moderate a meeting of politicians who will fight for the race for the White House. One of two Donald Trump, who is completely oblivious to the reporter’s questions about her alleged sex scandals. Gretchen Carlson also works for Fox News (Nicole Kidman), the kind of host who, upon receiving another sexist comment, decides to stop pretending nothing happened and start acting, in the hope that other colleagues will report other incorrect actions of male colleagues. Finally, there is Kayla Pee (Margot Robbie), a rookie journalist who aspires to make a career and hopes to get promoted to follow in the footsteps of the journalists she most admires. However, her dream collides with reality when she hides in an office in front of a powerful man who thinks he can ask for whatever he wants. These three women will become the leaders of an imaginary Bermuda Triangle that aims to eliminate the CEO of Fox News, stripping him of the power he has repeatedly humiliated and harassed them with.

As said at the beginning, Bombshell – The Voice of Scandal is a film based on a true story, centered on a journalist who, after being fired, decided to go on the counterattack and denounce the head of Fox News, Roger Ailes. The latter was somewhat of a stereotype of the power tycoon who felt so unapproachable that when Gretchen Carlson accused him of sexual harassment he thought that his strength and his “hooks” would enable him to get the better of an opponent he probably didn’t consider his own. But, as he writes Soon, this man’s reports were incorrect given that it took only sixteen days for Roger Ailes to lose virtually everything he had won in his career, becoming the symbol of one of the most devastating scandals in recent US history. While the character of Margot Robbie has no real-life counterpart and is therefore the only character that was created ad hoc to enhance the audience’s empathic participation, the rest of the characters Bomb corresponds to reality. No wonder the role of Gretchen Carlson would be a challenge for any actress approaching the role. You must”. And when Meryl says, “Yes, you should,” you do exactly what she says.”
