Gal Gadot remembers the craziest day of filming the Fast & Furious saga

Summary

  • Gal Gadot talks about his craziest day on the set of Fast & Furious 6: burning cars, blocked roads and big stunts in the Canary Islands.
  • Fast & Furious is known for its tense action sequences and ever-increasing number of stunts, with each installment striving to outdo the last in terms of cars, explosions, and fires.
  • Fast & Furious 11, currently in development, promises even more adrenaline and mayhem, with Gadot’s character Giselle likely to play a big role alongside Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) and the rest of Dom’s family.

Longtime Fast & Furious alum Gal Gadot has opened up about the craziest day she’s had on set. Gadot first appeared as Giselle Yashar in the 2009 film Fast and Furious, and later reprized her role in Fast and Furious 5, Fast and Furious 6, and most recently Fast and Furious X. this seems to create serious problems for Gadot during the filming of “Fast and the Furious.”

In a recent Hot Ones interview on First We Feast (given before the SAG-AFTRA strike), Gadot talked about the craziest day he’s had on the set of Fast & Furious. This happened during the filming of Fast & Furious 6 and included large set pieces and continuous practice explosions. Gadot alludes to burning cars, multiple vehicles and a major stunt that led to the closure of part of the Canary Islands. Here’s what he said:

“When we were traveling in one of the Canary Islands and they blocked the roads, they literally burned a huge truck and a huge group of very expensive cars in the afternoon. It was like lighting a match. Fast & Furious – all their sets with cars, trains, rockets, planes, all these different vehicles – they’re crazy. This is madness.”

Fast & Furious continues to outdo itself with action scenes.

Fast & Furious is all about intense action, big emotional issues, and even more spectacular stunts. Characters regularly manage to do the impossible, such as smashing ceilings with their bare fists, surviving aircraft carrier chases, and flying into space. Once in Fast & Furious 6, a tank was shown crushing a lot of cars and Dom (Vin Diesel) jumping out of a moving car to save Letty (Michelle Rodriguez). However, Gadot’s experience in Fast & Furious 6 is yet another example of the franchise trying to ramp up the action with more cars, more explosions, and more fires.

Fast & Furious 11 is currently in development and will likely feature more challenging puzzles and even more chaos. As the Fast & Furious universe draws to a close with the storyline that began with Fast X, it’s likely that the saga will come to an end on a grand scale. Working to support the Toretto family in Fast X, Gisele is sure to feature prominently in the next chapter. This means there could be even more chaos ahead for Gadot as Giselle takes on the evil Dante Reyes (Jason Momoa).

Stunts aren’t the only element that adds danger to Fast & Furious 11. Dwayne Johnson will reprise his role as Luke Hobbs, and the rest of Dom’s family will also return. On set with Gadot, there will be a variety of actors ready to shoot, as well as a wide variety of vehicles. Fast & Furious 6 gave Gadot some ridiculous scenes to film, but the Fast & Furious saga will create even more surreal scenes as the series continues.
