Among them, there are 406 sample collections. The state with the most outbreaks was EspĂ­rito Santo (28 cases in wild birds, 01 in surviving birds), followed by Rio de Janeiro (16 cases in wild birds), Sao Paulo (10 cases), Parana (10 cases ), Santa Catarina (08 cases) for wild birds and 01 for surviving birds), Bahia (04) and Rio Grande do Sul (01). Brazil is still considered HPAI-free according to the World Organization for Animal Health (WHO) criteria, as there have not been any confirmed cases of avian influenza in poultry in the country’s production sector.
