Michelle Rodriguez hints that Fast X’s cliffhanger ending will leave audiences shocked. Rodriguez has been a part of the high-speed action franchise since 2001 with the film The Fast and the Furious, playing racer and mechanic Letty Ortiz in six films. Letty returns alongside Vin Diesel as Dom Toretto and the rest of his team in Fast X, as they find themselves in the sights of villain Dante Reyes played by Jason Momoa, who seeks revenge against the team.
Speaking with Collider ahead of the release of his epic fantasy film, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, Rodriguez talks Fast X’s ambitious ending, promising an ending that will leave audiences in shock. Director Louis Leterrier previously confirmed the film will have a dramatic conclusion, but Rodriguez’s comments upped the ante. Here is Rodriguez’s full response:
“I think people are going to be really, really surprised and we’re going to have a lot of open mouths at the end of Fast X. Let’s put it that way. He’ll be like, ‘Really? What?’ So it was for me at the cinema. I was like, ‘Oh my God. What did we do?’”
While Fast X will expand its cast with newcomers like Momoa, Brie Larson, Alan Ritchson, Daniela Melchior, and Hollywood icon Rita Moreno as Dom’s grandmother, the penultimate film will also see the return of familiar faces and favorites. After appearing as an enemy in F9, John Cena will return as Dom’s once estranged brother Jakob who is now an ally. Additionally, most of the F9 cast, including Michael Rooker and Cardi B, will appear in Fast X. With Dom’s journey nearing its end, the ensemble cast allows longtime fans to see one last time many favorite characters.
However, Fast X could also provide the series with some of its personal highest stakes. Though the currently released promotional material has revealed Dante’s personal history with Dom’s family, the teasers have also seen the new villain vowing to make Dom suffer by destroying those he holds dear. As such, Fast X could end with the potential death of a major character, with the next and final film seeing Dom’s team seek vengeance for a fallen comrade.
With the high-octane, family-focused adventures of the Fast and Furious nearing its end, speculation is rife regarding how the increasingly over-the-top action series will wrap up. Amidst the increasingly audacious stunts, there is great interest in the emotions brought by the Fast X scenario.
